Course on Climate Risk
22. August/26. September 2019
The Governance Group is holding a course on how to map, report and follow-up on climate risk. The course will take place on Thursday 22nd August and Thursday 26th September.
The course will provide an introduction to climate risk with concrete examples from companies and practical tasks for targeted work on climate risk. You will, among other things, learn:
What characterizes good climate risk management?
How to report climate risk in a trustworthy manner?
Which reporting standards can be used; TCFD, GRI, CDP?

Business Integrity Country Agenda review

The Governance Group recently conducted a review of Transparency International’s Business Integrity Country Agenda (BICA) assessing its strength as an advocacy and reform tool. TI’s BICA aims to initiate collective momentum to strengthen business integrity in a country. As part of our review, we assessed BICA’s implementation in 8 countries including Brazil, Mozambique, Turkey and Cambodia.

The Governance Group is pleased to have contributed as an analyst to this year's Freedom in the World publication. 2018 marks the 13th year in row showing a global decline in democracy and freedom. Despite this, some countries have been making gains, including Angola and Ethiopia whose new Presidents and reforms have put them in the top 6 countries with the most gains in 2018.

Welcoming our new Senior Associate

We are pleased to announce that Josefine Eggum is joining The Governance Group as Senior Associate. Josefine joins us from the Sahara Forest Project where she worked with the production of sustainable food, water and energy in dry and desert areas. She previously worked at SEB Merchant Banking within corporate risk and capital structure analysis and advisory. At SEB, Josefine was also involved with work on Green Bonds. She holds an MSc in International Business from Copenhagen Business School.

Media Diploma Course
22-26 October 2018
The Governance Group and the Norwegian Centre for Human Rights hosted journalists and media representatives from Angola for a course on media, freedom of expression and human rights. The participants spent the week learning about human rights and freedom of expression relevant to their work and met with different Norwegian institutions, including Fritt Ord, the Norwegian Union of Journalists, and NRK.
